THE NICI in Bournemouth has been recognised as the ‘Best Interior Hotel Renovation’ at the prestigious Boutique Hotelier Awards 2023. Picking up the award on Monday evening, close to 300 hoteliers and suppliers from around the UK came together to celebrate the industry’s successes over the last 12 months, with a glittering ceremony in Chelsea, London.
Praised for its “cutting-edge transformation” and “incredible design”, the interiors draw inspiration from around the world to create a five star destination resort on the south coast. Anthony Rudolph, Brand Director for the Nicolas James Group, who headed up THE NICI renovation, says: “This is a fantastic industry accolade and one that we are very honored to be recognised for. Every decision we made was aimed at enhancing our guest experience and providing a stay that evokes a sense of escapism and excitement, with playful but sophisticated interiors unlike anything else in the U.K.”
Zoe Monk, Senior Editor, and Eamonn Crowe, Editor at Boutique Hotelier comments: “The Boutique Hotelier Awards have grown exponentially since first launching three years ago and are always a celebration of innovative ideas and best practice in the UK’s boutique hotel industry. Hoteliers continue to face tough challenges, but we wanted tonight to be a celebration of those teams and individuals that have responded to these challenges with vigour and pragmatism, continuing to inspire both their hotel guests and fellow staff.”
Having completed the latest phase of its £25m refurbishment in May this year, with the opening of its new 30m outdoor heated pool alongside a brand-new luxury spa, THE NICI has well and truly arrived on the south coast. It has transformed Bournemouth’s accommodation landscape with its 88 luxury bedrooms, many with spectacular sea views, garden hot tub suites, vibrant South Beach Restaurant, Bar & Terrace, indoor cinema and meetings and events facilities.
